I bought this specially for slicing strawberries, and I'm happy to say it works great. When strawberries are on sale, I will buy 5-6 pounds at a time and of course I can't eat them all at once, so I would dehydrate them and slicing all those strawberries by hand was time consuming. So after reading many reviews, in particular, Cook's Illustrated, I decide to go with this one. I'm pleased that I did. I also use this for bananas, which of course I cut down to fit this slicer, quick and easy and it makes nice even slices.
