I purchased this particular cheese slicer, because Amazon listed it as being made of stainless steel.I had been looking for an all stainless steel roller type cheese slicer for awhile, and this one seemed to look fairly heavy duty.I purchased two of them, but when they arrived, the package describes the construction as "Chrome plated die-cast alloy body with stainless steel wire."Not really what I was looking for, but as a cheese slicer, it does seem to work ok.
