KitchenAid KAT135OB Cook's Series Egg Slicer, Black Review

My prior experience with egg slicers has been with the ones that have thin wire wrapped around a metal bar, the kind one gets at Wal-Mart, etc. When I first saw this, I wondered why anyone would want to spend $7.00 on an egg slicer. As fate would have it, one of the wires broke in my egg slicer. Not wanting to have to go out for another one (it's hard for me to get around), I decided to fork out the money for one.

I now know why one would spend $7.00 on an egg slicer. The wires do not bend even with jumbo eggs. Although I don't slice many mushrooms,I frequently slice strawberries. This egg slicer yields beautiful slices without damaging the shape of the berries. I am buying another so that I always have a clean one ready to use.
